Patricia "Pat" Tatro

Farewell

Dear CF Patients and Families,

It has been a great privilege and honor to serve as your social worker in the CF clinic for the past 13 years. In the reorganization that is occurring at the Emory CF Center my position will no longer be funded. It is with sadness that I must say good-bye to you.
My wish for each and every one of you is:
1. Take care of yourself
2. Do your treatments as your doctors prescribe
3. Come to clinic.
I want you to be well so you can realize all of your hopes and dreams.
Love, Pat

Pat, I had no idea that your position was not being funded in the reorganization. I am very saddened for the CF community. You have always been a tremendous asset both professionally and personally to everyone involved in the CF community. You have always been someone that we all could count on to be positive and smiling. I hope that there will be a position for you somewhere in the Emory system so that you can continue doing the work that you do so well. You have always been a treasure to the CF patients and their family and friends. You are appreciated and loved by the people whose lives you’ve touched.

Hi Pat,
I just wanted to tell you how much we already miss you. Chelsi, Rocki and I are having a hard time coming to terms with a CF center without you. You have been such a big part of our lives for the last ten years. You came to us at the hospital the first day Chelsi tested and was there when Rocki received her positive results too. We have "grown" in CF with you. I can only guess that the greater plan called for us to share you with everyone else. It will be hard, but I am so happy for them to have the joy and priviledge of knowing you, just as we have. Thank you for being part of our family, you will always have your place in our hearts.
